Evin received her PhD at the Developmental Psychopathology section at the University of Amsterdam in 2016. Her PhD project focused on the early transmission of depression and anxiety from parents to children. After completing her PhD, she worked as post-doc researcher at the same section where extended her research from infancy to childhood and adolescence years. She is currently working as assistant professor at the Clinical Psychology department at Leiden University. Thanks to a Rubicon Grant that she received from the Dutch Science Institute, Evin recently joined the CAT Lab to do research on the development of anxiety in preschool children. In her current research, she is adopting a multi-method approach that incorporates the study of emotional expressions, attention and physiology in parents and children for a better understanding of the mechanisms explaining intergenerational transmission of depression and anxiety.
